Jerwood Contemporary Painters

This exhibition aims to promote, discover and support imaginative and vibrant practice in contemporary painting. The selectors, who are artists themselves, will choose 30 artists to take part in an exhibition at the Jerwood Space. The exhibition will then tour to BayArt in Cardiff and The Lowry in Salford.

Offering an exciting opportunity to emerging artists who are at a particular stage in their development, falling between student and recognised artist status, the exhibition reaffirms the Jerwood Charitable Foundation's commitment to painting as well as the understanding of its importance in the visual arts. Each of the 30 exhibiting artists who have all graduated since 2000 will show one selected piece of work and be rewarded a £1,000 participation fee.
