Julia Dault

Julia Dault lives and works in Brooklyn, a rich source for artificial materials with which she plays on the taste values attributed to texture, pattern and colour. Pleather, vinyl and gold lamé are gathered in bulging loops on the floor, in precarious relation to each other, and to her paintings, in which Dault forefronts the layering of pattern and paint with strokes that erase or even perforate.
