National Apprenticeships Week Trader Challenge

Apprentices from Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Restaurant working in partnership with Lexington Catering's Chef Apprenticeship Scheme, Lex School of Talent, will be put to the test at Borough Market.

As part of National Apprenticeships Week, the apprentices will have three days to plan, prepare and take a hot food product to sell at Borough in an 'Apprentice' style challenge.

Working in two teams the apprentices will source their ingredients from the wealth of traders within the Market and will even have to pass a Borough Market tasting panel, something which all new traders to Borough undertake when they join the market.

The apprentices will start their day at the Market at 11am when they ring the bell to open the Market, they will then have until 2.45pm on their stalls in the Green Market to sell as much as they can. The winners will be the team that generates the most profit, which will be donated to a charity of their choice.
