The exhibition combines figurative sculptures and large drawings by last year's Waterloo Festival artist in residence, Clare Abbatt, with work by the local community, encouraging visitors to walk around the extensive space of St John's. The community of St John's, the youth group SE1 United and other Waterloo residents have been encouraged to create a library of sketch notebooks about themselves, reflecting also on conflict and community, helping Clare to create a display of words and images by people who have experienced conflict within their community. Clare has also invited locals to volunteer to be moulded for a sculptural work, entitled The Seven Sleepers. Art workshops will take place throughout the Waterloo Festival and Clare will give a lunchtime talk about her work on Saturday 29 June.
