Side Effects

This exhibition is the culmination of artwork produced over a six year period in the Occupational Therapy sessions held on the acute psychiatric wards at the York Clinic, London Bridge.

The exhibition is not about showcasing peoples' artistic ability but more about the unpretentious honesty of their expression, it is work which reflects something of the diverse, strange, uninhibited & complex emotional states experienced by those who suffer mental illness. It is a privileged view into these states of mind which on some level touch us all.
