In 1930, the refreshment room murals at Morley College were unveiled amid international press acclaim. Edward Bawden was one of the young artists involved, and 25 years after his death, the college marks its 125th anniversary in Morley College's own gallery with an exhibition focused on Bawden's genius at telling stories in pictures.

Bawden was prolific, his production ranging, from advertising through murals, tapestry, book illustration and jackets, film posters, theatre sets and many unique pieces, such as his peepshow for the Scarborough hotelier, Tom Laughton, which have rarely been loaned for exhibition before.
