Beethoven Day

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

Southbank Sinfonia will be joined by 120 primary school pupils for a morning of creative music making. The session will see pupils learning all about the tricks of the trade used by Beethoven himself to write one of the most famous symphonies in classical music.

Our mini-composers will then use these ideas as a basis for creating their own musical masterpieces. Their new creations will be performed alongside Southbank Sinfonia musicians, with the morning culminating in a rousing performance of the first movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No.5.

Watch this interactive workshop as Southbank Sinfonia’s daring musicians pass on their knowledge and enthusiasm to the next generation.
