Jenny Wheatley

As one of this country's most exciting colourists, Jenny Wheatley fills the gallery with an intensity of colour that reminds us of the Late Impressionists and the Fauvist Movement. An uplifting show for the Spring that is full of imagination and exuberance.

Richly painted oils and acrylics and bright and vigorous watercolours show the breadth of Jenny's palette. Warm reds and crimsons, clear Mediterranean blues, bright yellows and oranges drench her paintings with colour and vitality.

Always travelling, Jenny Wheatley has been to Cyprus, Siena, Cuba, Malta, Scotland and her beloved Cornwall. Whether it is the jewel-like colours of the Cyprus valleys in springtime, the patterned rooftops of Siena or the glowing colours of the Scottish Islands and Highlands – her paintings are always enticing.

Forever playing with colour and perspective, Jenny transforms the canvas with views through shuttered windows, exotic patterned rugs, printed wallpapers and quirky memorabilia. Flowers, chairs. teapots, birdcages, and the favourite dog all become part of the panorama.
