Southwark is running a free 'IdeasEvent' in partnership with Spacehive. This event will be an opportunity for people to learn more about Spacehive, the civic crowdfunding platform that is making big waves in cities across the UK.
Crowdfunding is a great way to raise funds and awareness for your project or organisation and with Spacehive, different pots of funding can be channelled into your project, including from the GLA and the council, as well as from the public.
Already some excellent Southwark-based projects have been funded with Spacehive, including the Peckham Coal Line and Peckham Lido feasibility study.
Southwark Council has recently created its own 'Hive' to bring all the projects in the borough under one umbrella. Across the UK tonnes of unique projects have been popping up all over the place, including one in Bristol that saw a high street turn into a waterslide for a while!
So if you have an idea for ways to make Southwark a more exciting place to live, work and play, please come along to the event to share your ideas and make the first step towards getting your project funded.
7,000+ locals read it every week. Can you afford to miss out?
