A tour of the NT and examination of its links with Shakespeare, marking 400 years since his death in 1616.

The 1848 proposal for a national theatre - 'a house for Shakespeare'- was inspired by purchase of Shakespeare's Birthplace; the building is dedicated to Shakespeare and the company have performed 66 productions of our national playwright.
