A Voice for Richard

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

After the discovery of the burial of Richard III in a Leicester car park in 2012, Yvonne became deeply involved with the fascinating process of finding a "literal" voice for Richard.

Along with medical archaeology, skeletal and facial reconstruction, new developments in the science of DNA, together with archival evidence, are giving us an opportunity to discover what Richard may actually have sounded like.

Yvonne returns to the Rose Playhouse online webinar series to share updates about the ongoing research.

We will also have the opportunity to learn/practice, late medieval English and to consider Richard outside the Shakespearean gaze, which has, for so long, cast such a shade on him. She will tell us how archaeological, scientific and ancestral evidence is being pieced together in this exciting project.
