A Concert for Winter at Shakespeare's Globe

School and community groups from across the borough of Southwark will bring songs and music to the stage of the Globe Theatre in a glorious celebration of winter. This year, A Concert for Winter is inspired by the theme of The Spirit of Southwark.

The project is free to all local schools in the borough and participants include: Haymerle Special School, Harris Girls' Academy East Dulwich, Kingsdale Foundation, Redriff Primary School, Bessemer Grange Primary School, Surrey Square Jnr School, Charles Dickens Primary School, St Saviour's & St Olave's School and Dulwich Wood Nursery School & Children's Centre.

The schools will also be performing alongside choirs from Southwark Police (performing the song Rockin Robin), PricewaterhouseCoopers and Shakespeare's Globe.

Johanna Elworthy, Southwark Community Projects Manager explains: "The Globe is an open house, open to all, and we are very proud of our continuing relationship with the Southwark Community. We share this space, this air, these streets, these stories and the possibilities contained within this wooden 'O'. This common bond has the capacity to draw us together in the midst of our diversity. In A Concert for winter we celebrate all that is 'the spirit of Southwark'."

Tickets are free for all schools, groups and individuals but must be booked in advance from [email protected]
