Gardeners

Encounters with Exceptional People

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

Tim Richardson will introduce Diana Ross's delightful compendium of visits and interviews of famous gardeners, including Roy Lancaster, Lady Salisbury, Thomas Pakenham and Beth Chatto, along with a few equally famous names from other walks of life, including Professor James Lovelock and Richard Mabey.

Through these informal yet revealing encounters, we learn about their relationship with plants, who and what have inspired them, and how they approach the pleasures and challenges of garden making. We also get a glimpse into their other ideas and activities - their families, their enthusiasms and their aspirations. Some are famous horticulturalists and designers; others have a more intriguing relationship with gardening. All of them are, in different ways, exceptional people.

Have a glass of wine, enjoy the talk and get your book signed by the author of some of the best interviews with gardeners of our time.
