London Impro Jam

To celebrate their success at the Edinburgh Festival, the London Impro Jam ("the karaoke of comedy") are having their first ever free show.

A brand new improvisation show came to London last year in which the audience members are the stars.

The London Impro Jam asks not only for audience suggestions, but asks for audience members too! Volunteers are encouraged to come on stage and perform alongside the professional improvisers. Sounds scary? Well actually this show does everything it can to ensure that the volunteer comes away looking great. The person coming up gets to choose the professional they want on stage with them, so they know they are in safe hands.

The scene itself is guided by two expert directors, and an MC is on hand to step at any time. If that wasn't enough, at any point if the volunteer on stage gets stuck, they can look to the directors and say in a very annoyed voice "line" and the directors have to give them their next 'line'.

Of course the whole thing is made up, so the directors have to make up the line the same as the volunteer would, but years of training means they are ready to feed in the exactly words that result in laughter and applause not for them - but for the audience member.

If you are looking for a comedy show that does more than entertain, but give you a chance to view the world in a slightly different way after ending up on stage, this show is for you. If you are looking for a fun night out with some of London's most cutting edge comedy, this is also for you.
