Antony Sher's latest oil painting is an enormous autobiographical work called 'The Audience'. It's a composition of 130 portraits of people who have influenced his life: iconic heroes and villains (Mandela and Hitler), great actors (Olivier, Brando), members of his family, or friends, characters he's played (Richard III, Primo Levi, Stanley Spencer) or characters from his novels and plays.
To coincide with his 60th birthday, and the new edition of his autobiography, Beside Myself, Antony Sher will exhibit 'The Audience' alongside other paintings and drawings.
