Through a series of glittering monochromatic images Philip Symonds captures the essence of personality with some striking portraits of people caught in a moment.

Throughout 2008 Philip took more than 3,000 photographs and selected a handful which were then transformed into this high-impact collection accentuating the idiosyncratic traits of each subject.

From the urban skateboarder performing a tricky move on the South Bank to the zany image of 'Harry' caught at a party, Philip has succeeded in presenting those characteristics, deep within all of us, which ultimately betray us and leave a lasting impression on the people we encounter.
