Comedienne and presenter Amy Lame is having a tea party for Diabetes UK's Care For A Cuppa campaign to help raise funds for the leading health charity.
Amy is sending an open invitation to the public for her party at the I Knit London shop.
Guests will have the chance to win prizes including tea for two at The Savoy, champagne tea for two at the National Portrait Gallery and tickets for the Tiger Lillies show Shockheaded Peter.
Care For A Cuppa Day encourages eager hosts to organise a tea party to help Diabetes UK raise vital funds to support research and diabetes-related projects. To mark its 75th year the charity has ambitious plans to have 1,000 parties by December 2009.
"I am delighted to be supporting Care For A Cuppa and very excited about throwing my own tea party on Saturday!" says Amy Lame.
"We have lots of prizes to give away and guests are encouraged to bring cakes so that we can sell them to raise money for Diabetes UK.
"Diabetes is a serious condition that can lead to devastating complications such as heart disease and stroke. Type 2 diabetes can be avoided by adopting a healthy diet and taking regular physical activity and this is what I tried to do when I took part in Celebrity Fit Club a few years ago."
