10-mile sponsored walk organised by UNICEF and Barclays to raise money for the million Rwandan schoolchildren who aren't getting an education following the civil war in their country.

The walk kicks off at 7pm on Friday at Potters Fields Park and takes in St Paul's Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London. There'll be an African band and dancers at the start line to send the walkers on their way.

The organisers are hoping that people will sign up for the walk and drum up sponsorship from family and friends to help rebuild classrooms, train teachers, and ultimately improve enrolment amongst some of Rwanda's most vulnerable children, in one of Africa's poorest countries.

If 2,000 people walk in London, each raising one penny for every step taken, their contribution could help construct four new schools. There's another walk happening simultaneously in Manchester.
