Palgrave's Golden Treasury

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

The Golden Treasury of English Songs and Lyrics is the most popular and widely read anthology of English poetry ever compiled. Its original editor, Francis Turner Palgrave (1788–1861), an Oxford friend of Matthew Arnold and Arthur Hugh Clough and later Oxford Professor of Poetry, made the selection in close consultation with Tennyson. It contains some of the best loved English poems up to and including the Victorian age. Selections are read by actors.
