This will be the first major UK exhibition on the interaction between visual arts and dance from the 1960s to the present.
The main focus will be on visual artists and choreographers who create sculptures and installations that direct the movements of exhibition-goers, turning the viewer into an active participant – even into a dancer.
Alongside new commissions by leading international artists there will also be reconstructions of seminal works from the last 50 years.
Featured artists and choreographers include Lygia Clark, William Forsythe, Isaac Julien, Mike Kelley, Marie Le Ribot, Robert Morris and Bruce Nauman.
The exhibition will be accompanied by dance performances across the Southbank Centre site.
