Neo Bankside and Tate Modern: Sculpted in Sugar at Neo Bankside

Developers of Neo Bankside, the new residential scheme currently being built in Hopton Street, commissioned sculptor Brendan Jamison to make sculptures of both Tate Modern and the tallest of the Neo Bankside buildings entirely out of sugar cubes!

The sugar sculptures have been made to a scale of 100:1, with amazing detail carved out of the crystals. They are on display in Neo Bankside’s pavilion in Hopton Street.

On Saturday 3 July Brendan will be holding sugar cube workshops for children. Here’s a chance to learn how to build a small house, a tiny castle, or a folly entirely out of sugar cubes. These workshops will take place between 10am at 4pm at the pavilion. To arrange a place for your children to take part it’s best to pre-book. Just email: [email protected] and the team will make sure you have a place.

Also, on Saturday 3 July, Neo Bankside will be offering tours of the site. Here’s a chance to put on the hard hat and tough boots and be guided around the new buildings and see the amazing view over the city from the top floors. To book a place just email [email protected] to book a place or phone Ros, Neil or Hannah at Camron PR on 020 7420 1700.
