London SE1 website team

Prince William visited The View from the Shard on Thursday to make a speech about the illegal trade in wildlife.

The Duke of Cambridge, who is patron of the Tusk charity, was introduced by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Other well-known guests included Ben Fogle.

The Joiner Street entrance to London Bridge Station was fenced off whilst police mounted a large-scale security operation for the royal visit.
