Riverside ward candidates
This safe Liberal Democrat ward is the territory of council leader Nick Stanton. All three incumbent councillors are seeking reelection here.
Conservatives
Jonathan Fieldsend Jon was born in York just over 40 years ago. He lived in there for the first 7 years of his life before being moving to Suffolk where I lived until I returned to York for university. After university he worked at Eastern Electricity, one of the regional electricity companies that had just been privatised. An exciting career in accountancy beckoned but he managed to jump ship and in 1995 started working in insurance here in London. He is now a director of a fund management company that he joined as its second employee in 2004. |
Philip Walters Phil loves living in Riverside - the splendour of Tower Bridge and the walk beside the river, diverse and vibrant communities, and our schools and GPs surgeries - but he believes that some things aren't up to scratch. He wants to be your councillor to build upon what is done right and correct what is going wrong. |
Oliver Ward Oliver is a young professional working in the financial services industry. He moved to Southwark four years ago when he started a job near London Bridge and thoroughly enjoys living in the area. Outside of work he is a keen sportsman. Living and working in Riverside, he spends the vast majority of his time in the ward. He is therefore keen to help ensure it remains a great place to be and to help improve the area even further while ensuring our council tax is spent wisely. |
