Waterloo's Leake Street to become 'restaurant & bar destination'
Plans by the Department of Transport to turn disused railway arches below the former Waterloo Eurostar terminal into shops and restaurants have been approved by Lambeth Council.
Council could use CPO powers at Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre
Last month Southwark's cabinet paved the way for the use of the council's powers to apply for compulsory purchase orders to get rid of businesses which might block the redevelopment of Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre.

Waterloo Library - and every other Lambeth library - was shut on Wednesday after staff staged a 24-hour walkout over plans for massive cuts to the service.
