Judi Dench to open Globe Exhibition

A new exhibition - the world's largest dedicated to Shakespeare and his workplace - will be opened at Shakespeare's Globe this month by Dame Judi Dench. The exhibition - housed in the undercroft directly beneath the Globe - will focus on the role of the actor and others involved in staging Shakespeare's plays, the architecture and the craftsmen who designed, built and decorated the playhouses, and on the audiences. The visit includes a guided tour of the Globe Theatre. The new exhibition opens to the public from 10am on Friday 4 February; admission £7.50 (conc £6; child £5; family £23). Normal winter opening hours will be 10am-5pm. The completion allows for the development of the Inigo Jones Theatre to be used for winter performances.
