Waterloo Memoirs

Waterloo Memoirs 1900-2000 at the Waterloo Action Centre is a fascinating photographic record by local people. How many people remember the Aerated Bread Company in Belvedere Road? There is a picture of the South Bank from the river prior to the Festival of Britain and an old fashioned High Mass in the ruins of bombed St John's Church. A picture taken from an upstairs window of the corner of Short Street shows Panbros as RACS whilst the north side is lined with market stalls which, we are told, stretched from Blackfriars Road to Lambeth Walk.
