US terror attacks: effects on SE1
Armed police have been seen on Bankside on Wednesday morning following Tuesday's events in the USA, whilst Southwark Cathedral is planning a special service for Friday lunchtime.

Security has been stepped up at major buildings in the SE1 area – armed police were surrounding Tate Modern on Wednesday morning, and it has been reported that the London Eye has been closed to visitors.
There will be a special Eucharist for all those who died in New York and Washington, the injured, the bereaved and all the people of the USA on Friday 14 September at 12.45pm at Southwark Cathedral.
