Dined on Saturday night and had a fabulous meal. Great service, tasty food and a very good wine list. The views of the river and Tower Bridge lit up were spectacular. What more could you want for a romantic dinner? As it was the captain's birthday, I picked up the bill and it was very reasonable for Shad Thames. Highly recommended.

I have been fortunate to eat in some very good restaurants in recent times, and this is right up there with the best. Amusing and confident service, expertly cooked food, a great ambience and view, and (even from the a la carte menu) dinner for four, including service and two bottles of wine, was cheaper than dinner for two with one bottle of wine at Pont de la Tour. We also had an intriguing view of Joe Lewis's yacht "Aviva" just outside the window, moored up, which added to the experience. All very good.
