That is all you need to know about the kind of organisation this is.

Expensive + sloppy service
Feng Sushi has always offered bog standard interpretations of Japanese food at a price that's well over what you'll get in an authentic Japanese (like Mugen on King Williams Street – bewildering choice and excellent quality).

What is really annoying about Feng Sushi is their delivery service. Half an hour to 45 minutes is their promise, but that can turn into hour and a half with no notice at all. This happened to me a few times – but you make do when wether is bad, or you're unwell, and you hope it'll be quick this time because they're half a mile away.

My last order turned into a farce. Two attempts at delivery. Over 2 hours of waiting. Cold and soggy tempura first time. My 8.30pm order finally tuned up at 11pm. I had to turn them away because it's time for me to get ready to bed.

I wrote a stern letter to their management with no reply. So. AVOID with your longest barge pole.

service with a frown
used to go/order delivery quite regularly from feng sushi a few years back.
yuri, the manager at the time was extremely welcoming and friendly, she would often bring us a cup of sake or some icecream and spend time making us feel like valued customers.
last saturday we had the opposite experience.
it was not very busy in there, although everywhere else around the market was heaving.
the food and beer were ok, but expensive.
the experience was let down because the service we received was extremely disappointing.
despite not being very busy, they seemed in a rush for us to order. we were asked to order about 4 times whilst still looking at the menus.
i had to ask for a glasses for our drinks and for the small side plates to mix our wasabi/soy sauce on. each time i felt i was inconveniencing them as i waved them over.
i'm sure the staff had takeaway and delivery orders to deal with, but as local customers we really felt we were imposing on their time.
we probably would have stayed longer, felt inclined to drink and eat more, thus would have spent more if they had been even slightly more attentive.

Going Japanesa
Oh no!!!! Terrible terrible terrible!!!!
The WORST service I have ever had!! We had food delivered which was cold when it should have been hot! The we had the surliest, most unresonable phone service ever encountered. We will not bother again. And neither should you!
Miso unmoved
We get Feng delivered weekly, as there are not many healthy options in the area for delivery. The standard of food is very good, fresh and well executed. However recently portions have shrunk a little, prices have gone up a little and anything warm such as tempura or fishcakes tends to be soggy, which at that price should be crisp and excellent!Eating in is a better option as everything is sparkingly fresh and crispy!
and again
Went back again, with Mrs I and a friend who lived in Japan for a few years. Enjoyed another great meal, with friendly service. Ate our way through most sections of the menu and had another great night out.
Looking forward to going back
Had a very good evening with Mrs I and a friend at Feng Sushi recently. Restaurant was busy, and they had a new chef and so there were some delays with the food, but they dealt with this well by the simple method of telling us what was going on.

Food highlights for me were excellent baby squid tempura and very good eel sushi. Mrs I was v happy with her sashimi, and our friend thought the whole experience was excellent. Can't believe we'd never been before. Looking forward to going back again.
