Had a lovely lunch and the staff were very friendly.
I'm happy to say that I was there last Thursday and we had a lovely lunch! The staff seemed very competent and friendly whilst we were there... In fact we were saying how we should go there more often, as we often seem to forget it's there.

Maybe we were lucky, but I'd certainly recommend it. It's lovely to be able to sit outside on sunny days too!

potentially going down hill
further to my previous reviews of The Brittania - it would appear that the management of this place has changed several times recently, and at my last visit, the bar man was on his own, and it was only his second night. He didn't deal too well with our complaints about a regular playing his own music on his own laptop too loudly, so we left earlier than we would have.

on a previous visit recently the bar staff were different but also new, and couldn't manage to get the lights in the left hand room switched on, so we had to move tables to a better lit area of the pub.

neither offence too bad in it's own right, but possibly indicative of something deeper.

Nice pub
- very large selection of whisky
- very nice food - large portions for the price, too much in my opinion - it doesn't leave room for dessert.
- only one 'real ale'
- sometimes has sport on a big screen
- comfy sofas
- knowledgeable staff
- £3.05 a pint

a nice pub for a quite pub with friends

Good specials
I had the bream with new pot's, asparagus and roasted beetroot last night.

A HUGE cut above your regular pub food, and decent value to boot.

Absolutely splendid
what a great place! lovely food, great choice, including steak sandwich and Italian meatballs in spaghetti (which were lovely).

they sell Bombardier bitter, they have a wall full of different Whiskys to finish the evening off, and rather large comfortable sofa's too.
