Fruit Cake & Patisserie sell stale baked goods - three times in the past fortnight I have been sold danishes that are a day old or more, despite being assured each time of asking they are totally fresh! This morning (Tues July 7, 2009) being the latest case in point. The two times before have been too busy after getting the goods home and then having to bin them to take my inedible morning treat back and confront them. So this morning I tested the danish on the spot and, yes, it was old. Again! They then shamelessly refused to give me a refund. I asked a neighbour coincidentally in the shop at the same time to take a corner of the pastry and give her opinion, she confirmed it was a freshly bought stale danish! So out of 10 working days (in a fortnight) have been ripped off 30% of the time. Caveat emptor - ie buyer beware!
