If you're in the area, wok this way....
Working locally to David Fan Chinese Restaurant I can honestly say that I enjoy the food here far more than at the supposedly superior Oxo Tower which is just yards away. Don't let David Fan Chinese Restaurant's 1980s office decor put you off, their salt & pepper chilli chicken is simply awesome (ask for two tubs of extra chilli sauce - the best 20p you can spend on the South Bank), and I urge anyone in the area who is feeling hungry to give them a try. If you catch the delightful staff on a good day you may even be given a free can of coke!
Simply the most awesome chinese restaurant around
Do not be put off by the modest location or the unusual decor inside. This little gem on Upper Ground, just south of Blackfriars Bridge, is absolutely brilliant. From the moment you are welcomed by the charming staff until you finish your banana fritters, you are guaranteed a whale of a time. The food is genuinely fantastic and the homemade soups deserve special mention. Everything is very reasonably priced indeed and service is quick and friendly. You absolutely must give it a try and tell your friends too! Open for lunch and dinner (shuts at 10pm, closed Sundays) and take away. Hurrah!
