Great food but a lot of learning to be done
Went to the recently opened Arabica Bar and Kitchen with high expectations but was rather disappointed not with the food but with the ambiance and inadequate service. Food- no complaints. Great dips, salads, grills and pide. All cooked and prepared to perfection. The serving staff on the other hand have the look of "work experience" about them. The girl who seemed to be in charge spent far more time taking to her friends than actually managing her team. we were served by an array of what seemed like trainees culminating in the presentaion of the bill by a woman so po-faced and miserable i can only assume a recent trauma has deadened her personality. Music was played too loud and the lighting, what there was of it required the use of a smartphone torch to read (no joke, a suggestion of the staff). if the front of house were as well drilled, lead and disciplined as the kitchen staff clearly are Arabica could well be well worth a revisit. Food prices very reasonable, wine of course (as expected) generally overpriced.
