Southwark Guided Walk

This walk will be led by a City of London Guide and is organised by the City of London Libraries in association with the Guildhall Art Gallery

In the seventeenth century, Southwark was the City of London’s playground, with theatres and other entertainments.

Perhaps because of that, it also had a large number of prisons. This walk will look at all aspects of this interesting area.
