Apple Day at Borough Market

This family celebration of the apple harvest offers visitors young and old the chance to join the market's traders in the celebration of the complete lifecycle of the apple and apple growers.

The market's traders will be on hand to share their knowledge and enthusiasm and there will be plenty of opportunity to sample a vast array of apple varieties.

After Southwark Cathedral's Choral Eucharist, the Dean of Southwark will be leading a short Harvest Celebration service at 12.30pm in the Green Market at which the Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP, secretary of state for Communities and Local Government, will bring a greeting; and practical gifts will be collected for the Manna Day Centre for homeless people and the ROBES winter shelter project.

The Lions part are also holding their annual October Plenty harvest celebration.
