Her Majesty the Queen will visit the new Jubilee Gardens on the South Bank to officially open the new gardens and to mark the completion of the gardens’ £5 million transformation.
Her Majesty will unveil a new plaque to commemorate her visit. The gardens were first created in 1977 to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee and the plaque she unveiled then will also be on display.
The royal party will be welcomed by Sir David Brewer, the Lord Lieutenant of Greater London, the Mayor and Mayoress of Lambeth, Kate Hoey MP and Ted Inman, chair of the Jubilee Gardens Trust.
The Queen will meet representatives of those responsible for the design, funding, construction and management of the new gardens.
After her visit to Jubilee Gardens the Queen's next engagement is at BFI Southbank underneath Waterloo Bridge.
