London SE1 website team

This month the London Eye will welcome its 25 millionth to the South Bank. The attraction is celebrating the milestone with an online photography competition.

Visitors from the last 7 years are invited to share their memories and upload their photos from the London Eye via the website www.londoneye.com/photography

Since opening in 2000 an average of 1,000 visitors an hour have stepped into one of the Eye's 32 capsules.

3.5 million visitors a year take in the sights of the capital from the observation wheel.

The competition will be live for a month. One winning photo, chosen by a panel of judges, will be framed on permanent display at the British Airways London Eye ticket office inside County Hall.

The winning photographer will also receive a year's pass to all Tussauds Group attractions and a bottle of Laurent-Perrier champagne. All photos entered will become part of a mosaic which will be on permanent display at the ticket office.
