Southwark Street book exchange launched by communications firm

A pavement book exchange where secondhand books can be swapped freely has been set up in the doorway of Forster Communications' Southwark Street offices.

The book exchange, which has been in place for several weeks, can be found near the junction of Southwark Street and O'Meara Street, just yards from the Menier Chocolate Factory.

Each book deposited on the shelves carries a special insert where readers are invited to leave a short review and keep a record of the book's journey.

The Forster Book Exchange follows a similar initiative by the Rocketvan Box Shop in Union Street.

Another book exchange scheme, backed by Team London Bridge, operates in the Absolutely Starving cafe at Hay's Galleria.
