Anti-cuts campaigners occupy London College of Communication lecture theatre

Campaigners against cuts to staff and courses at London College of Communication have staged an occupation of the main lecture theatre at the Elephant & Castle campus.

Poppy wreath laid on the Thames during Armistice Day service

A service of remembrance was held on board the MV Havengore on Wednesday morning. A wreath was placed on the water of the Thames between the Houses of Parliament and St Thomas' Hospital.

Calls for Bankside licensing saturation zone to be extended west of Blackfriars Road

A saturation policy to make it more difficult to gain a premises licence in Borough and Bankside was confirmed by Southwark Council assembly last week. Cathedrals councillors have asked for the area west of Blackfriars Road to be included.

'Pocket plazas' for Bermondsey and London Bridge

Team London Bridge has unveiled new 'pocket plazas' in Shipwright Yard, Melior Street and Snowsfields.
