Government axes 45 million funding for BFI's South Bank film centre

The British Film Institute remains committed to plans for a new film centre on the South Bank despite the news that the incoming coalition government has withdrawn 45 million of funding for the scheme.

Urban orchard takes root on Union Street

Volunteers are working to create a temporary orchard on Union Street as part of the London Festival of Architecture - and local residents are encouraged to donate plants and seeds to the project.

Founder's Place development cancelled by Guy's and St Thomas'

A Terry Farrell-designed scheme to build more than 300 private homes and accommodation for 400 NHS staff north of Archbishop's Park has been abandoned by Guy's and St Thomas' Charity.
