Better Bankside website launched with chocolate giveaway

London SE1 website team

Commuters entering the Bankside area on Wednesday were handed bars of Fairtrade chocolate along with cards promoting the relaunched Better Bankside website.

The Better Bankside travel pages and map provide information on walking, cycling, public transport and local services such as cafes, banks and chemists. A search facility allows visitors to look for Bankside businesses by name or category.

Also, in association with the publishers of this website, there is a Business forum where local businesses can share information and recommendations.

As part of the launch visitors to the site have a chance to win a year's Tate membership, a meal for two at Roast and other prizes.

• Better Bankside was the UK's third Business Improvement District (BID) covering the area between Blackfriars Bridge, London Bridge and Southwark Street. Its programme to raise the quality of the local environment and create new commercial opportunities includes such themes as cleaning, greening, safety and area promotion.
