New website to help visitors and locals discover Bermondsey

London SE1 website team

A new website called Discover Bermondsey aims to help people learn about the rich history of the area.

Discover Bermondsey

The website builds on the printed local history map of Bermondsey published last year by the South Bermondsey Partnership.

Now the content of the paper map has been made available online at – and the creators of the website are inviting contributions from local residents to expand the online version.

The team is particularly keen to receive snippets of local history to expand the list of places of historical interest on the map.

You can send suggestions for locations to be included on the map to [email protected]

The new website has been produced by the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Neighbourhood Renewal team, part of the Southwark Alliance.

Copies of the paper map are still available from libraries and council offices in the area.
