'Nun in a Tent' at Southwark Cathedral

During this week twelve monks and nuns from across the country have come to Southwark to form a temporary religious community as part of the LifePrayer event offering opportunities to discover more about prayer, spirituality and the religious life.

The Nun in a Tent, or sometimes a Monk in a Tent, is just outside the cathedral's south door for the curious to drop in and ask questions or leave a prayer request.

"It's lovely to be here as part of the ministry," said Sister Catherine SLG who belongs to the Sisters of the Love of God and has often visited Southwark Cathedral when staying in London.

Events inside the cathedral include a lunchtime session on coping with stress and a Life Rhythms Day on Saturday morning.

The tent is open 10am to 4pm from Thursday to Saturday.
