The open day at Red Cross Gardens was both a look forward to a renewed garden and and celebration of the life of Octavia Hill who founded the garden and cottages as well as planning the Church Commissioners cottages at Waterloo.

Octavia Hill, who life was also marked by a service broadcast last month from St John's Waterloo, is best known as a co-founder of the National Trust.
