Food & wine normally good - but avoid the manager & perhaps
Made our way to it through Borough Market, looking at stalls and getting a cup of hot mulled wine - what Borough Market is all about. At the restaurant we went to the table at the rear offered by the waiter, with the half empty cups of mulled wine in our hands and slowly as my friend is partly paralysed on one side. When we sat down then the waiter came back and told us we had to leave if we wanted to drink the mulled wine - very matter of fact. I told him that if they forced us to leave then they'd simply loose our business so he got the manager who told us their business is to sell drinks not let people bring them in. No friendliness, no attempt to get a mutually beneficial outcome, just a ‘couldn't care less' attitude. His attitude alone made it impossible to stay even if we'd poured the drinks away. As we got up to leave and I told him he'd not only lost our business that day but future business ( 6+ times a year) he stood next to us, intimidating and making snide comments as my friend struggled to get up and put his coat on. So for the sake of ‘policy' and to gratify his ego he looses £50 today and £600+ in the next year. So, food and wine OK - that's why I went there - but …..
High Quality Fish, Good service
The place has low-key decor, quite plain and simple. Despite the hard surfaces it is comfortable and not too noisy.

The menu was really enticing. The dishes were described simply, but sounded great. I was surprised that they have steak too!

My friend had a really large plate of big shrimp in with a chili dressing, served with some rocket. £22. He loved it, and had some chunky chips on the side. These were also good.

I chose a special - Red mullet with saffron potatoes and mange tout. £16. It looked great on a rectangular white dish. The fish was great, lots of flavour and firm texture. It was 3 complementary ingredients, beautifully cooked.

This was a really good experience, and we were able to linger for an hour enjoying the place. Recommended.
