Because of the building work for the 1951 Festival of Britain, the Lord family are told to evacuate their home on the South Bank. They stoically cling to the property and after a week without water or light they are on the point of surrender when the Government capitulates.

1952 comedy film directed by Muriel Box.

Preceded by a short film by the 'Great Eight' young people who were part of this years events academy led by Better Bankside. The 16-21 year olds were recruited from SE1 and spent their summer getting a real-life taste of the working world.

They received hours of training in all aspects of event management and the world of business, generously donated by Bankside businesses keen to invest in tomorrow's generation.

As part of the Film Nation Competiton presented by Panasonic they made a 10-minute film inspired by one of the Olympic and Paralympic Values - "Determination". If they win they have a chance to have their film screened in the sporting venues during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
