Discovering Historic Southwark in the Shadow of the Shard

From Roman times to the present day, learn about the history of Southwark's famous landmarks and inhabitants, its seafaring past, its literary connections and some of its dark secrets too.

Be guided through cobbled backstreets and along the River Thames to take in many historic London sights, such as the remains of Winchester Palace, the Tower of London, Southwark Cathedral and Hop Exchange, and modern architectural wonders such as the Shard - Europe's tallest building - and City Hall.

Part of Walk London's Spring into Summer weekend of free guided walks funded by Transport for London.
