Better Bankside invites local groups to apply to be community partners

Better Bankside's corporate responsibility programme is inviting local groups to apply to become 'community partners' and receive funding and in-kind support from the business sector.

Better Bankside is a business improvement district representing 460 companies in an area which extends east to London Bridge, west to Blackfriars Bridge, north to the river and south to Borough tube, Marshalsea Rd and Union Street.

Three years ago Better Bankside selected Bankside Open Spaces Trust, Friends of the Mini Mints, Southwark Theatres Education Partnership, Borough Music School and SE1 United as its first community partners for a three year period.

This time round the five chosen organisations will receive funding of between £2,000 and £4,000 each per annum for up to three years from April 2013, as well as the opportunity to access in-kind support and expertise from the local business community.

Better Bankside is keen to support groups that Work with people who live, work or study within or very close to the business improvement district itself.

Organisations do not have to be based in this area themselves but the activities they are applying for funding for must benefit at least some people within or close to the BID area.

• The deadline for applications is Friday 31 January; further details and application form available on the Better Bankside website.
