The Bishop of Southwark, Rt Revd Christopher Chessun, saw his diocese from a new perspective on Tuesday when he visited the 56th floor of the Shard skyscraper at London Bridge.

The bishop was accompanied on the visit by Canon Andrew Nunn, acting dean of Southwark Cathedral.

It is five years since the Shard's mastermind Renzo Piano delivered his 'architectural sermon' from the pulpit of Southwark Cathedral, setting out the philosophy behind the tower's design.
