Barriers were erected to prevent passengers from seeing the counter-terrorism exercise in progress.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police, British Transport Police, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service all took part in the simulation.

Earlier this year the Government revealed that the former international rail terminal could remain largely unused until the end of the decade.
